Questions families ask before they share

Is this family location app on Android and iPhone?

Yes. My Family Location works on Android, on iPhone and in any modern browser without installing anything. Everyone joins the same circle whatever phone they use, which makes it a family locator app for mixed-phone households too.

Does the other person have to agree?

Always. They get an invite, and nothing is shared until they tap Join. After that, sharing goes both ways, and they can pause or leave the circle whenever they want.

Will it drain the battery?

Location updates run in the background and are tuned to be light on battery. Some Android phones put apps to sleep to save power; the app shows you once how to keep it running. If a phone does run low, the circle gets a low battery alert.

What about the browser version?

In a browser, your location updates while the tab is open. Close it and your family sees your last spot with the time. For updates with the phone in your pocket, use the Android or iPhone app.

How much does the family location app cost?

You can start on the free plan, and SOS is free on every plan. Premium adds 30 days of location history, more places and more circles, and one subscription covers the whole family.

Can I add someone without asking them?

No. Every person joins by accepting an invite on their own phone, and they can always see who else is in the circle.
